The Medical Directorate co-ordinates a range of elective and emergency services at both Ysbyty Gwynedd and Llandudno General Hospital, and much of the activity revolves around dealing with emergency medical admissions.

In addition to the services listed below, the directorate manages a number of specialist units including Coronary Care, the Alaw Unit which specialises in cancer and haematology, and Elidir which specialises in Renal medicine.
