Visiting Arrangements For the comfort of all patients, we normally ask for no more than two visitors to be at the patient's bedside at any one time, and that any children should be closely supervised - please check with the Ward Sister or Charge Nurse before taking children into the ward. We strongly advise visitors not to bring small babies into hospital. Ysbyty Gwynedd All Wards

If you are visiting a ward displaying the Protected Mealtime Poster, please respect this. However, if you normally visit at mealtimes to help your relative / friend to eat, we are happy for you to continue to do this. Enquiries Relatives and friends may enquire about a patient's progress by telephoning the hospital. To keep calls to a minimum, please ask one member of the family to act as the hospital link and inform the rest of the family. We will advise close friends and relatives of a patient's general progress unless they specifically request that this information is not shared. Help us to reduce infections The North West Wales NHS Trust has implemented stringent policies aimed at minimising infections. Alcohol gel has been made available which can be used to clean and disinfect hands. It is available at the entrance to every ward and visitors are encouraged to use it before and after visiting. The North West Wales NHS Trust was also the first in North Wales to put the special hand-washing alcohol gel on every bed to assist staff, patients and visitors to clean their hands more often. To help the hospital to reduce infections: - Visitors should always use the alcohol gel by the entrance to every ward before and after visiting.
- Visitors should always use chairs and not sit on beds.
- Always wash your hands after visiting the toilet.
Car Parking at Ysbyty Gwynedd A special 'drop-off' area has been built by the hospital's main entrance, and additional traffic calming measures including speed humps, improved lighting and pedestrian walkways have been introduced. Signs and road markings have been placed around the hospital to inform drivers of the need to keep roads and emergency routes clear and to ensure that emergency vehicles have clear access to all areas of the hospital at all times. Please help the staff, visitors and patients of the hospital by parking safely in the appropriate car park. Patientline The Trust has installed the Patientline System at Ysbyty Gwynedd and Llandudno General Hospital. Patientline is a bedsite entertainment system with television, telephone, radio and internet access. It uses state of the art technology to allow patients to make and receive telephone calls and also enjoy personal access to a wide range of television channels and movies. Further information about Patientline, including details of how to use the system, is located by each bed. Dedicated Patientline staff are also based at each hospital to help you get the most out of the facility. |
