This department consists of six full time General Surgeons, whose specialist interest include vascular, colorectal, upper gastrointestinal, salivary, bilary and breast disease. The department also has a visiting Plastic Surgeon. 

At Ysbyty Gwynedd, the General Surgeons have the use of 2 dedicated wards (Dulas and Conwy)  and also share the use of a 30 bedded ward (Ogwen) which is used by the Urologists.

The General Surgeons also use two 18 bedded wards at Llandudno General Hospital with the Urologists and the Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Outpatient services are provided for at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Llandudno General Hospital, Blaenau Ffestiniog, and Penrhos Stanley Hospital, Holyhead.

The department also has 6 specialist nurses, who specialise in vascular, breast care, continence and stoma care.
