The maternity service is an integrated hospital / community service offering a range of care choices for women. These include GP Units, Home and Domino deliveries. The Directorate provides the following Obstetric Services: - 1 combined antenatal and postnatal ward (24 beds) at Ysbyty Gwynedd.
- Antenatal Day Assessment Unit (4 beds).
- Delivery Suite (8 rooms, 1 theatre and 1 resuscitation room).
- 1 Bereavement Room (based on the Gynaecology Ward, Ysbyty Gwynedd).
- Community Midwifery Service.
- GP Unit deliveries (3 units based at Pwllheli, Dolgellau and Tywyn).
There are 5 Consultants covering Obstetrics and Gynaecology and each one has a designated team of junior doctors. Full ranges of routine and specialist services are provided, including scanning and genetic counselling.  Breastfeeding
