The Family Planning Department offers advice on Women's Health and Contraceptive Service. There are currently 10 Family Planning Clinics in Gwynedd and Anglesey and are run by trained staff who provide confidential advice on the following: - Specialist Family Planning Advice including provision of all contraceptive methods.
- Free pregnancy testing and counselling.
- Emergency contraception.
- Smear tests.
- Testing for and treatment of Chlamydia and common genital infections in women.
- HIV prevention advice.
- Free condoms.
- Implant fitting and removal.
- IUCD's (coils) fitted.
Experienced and qualified staff can provide advice on women's issues in an informal and friendly atmosphere. Appointments can be made by phoning the appropriate clinic during clinic opening times. General enquries can also be made by telephone Monday to Thursday between 8.30-3.00 on (01286) 684015. IUCDs are fitted in the Family Planning Clinics at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Blaenau Ffestiniog and Pwllheli. The clinics also participate in the training of Doctors, nurses and medical students in contraception. |
