A School Nurse is a registered nurse who works as part of a team along with the School Doctor and teaching staff, and more importantly, parents and / or guardians. The nurse aims to help ensure that the child's health allows him / her to get the maximum benefit from school life. The nurse does this by: - Being interested in all aspects of a child's life.

- Ensuring that the screening programme continues throughout the child's school years.
- Informing parents of any problems that may arise.
- Seeing children in school on a regular basis.
- Being approachable.

- Bed-wetting / soiling.
- Promoting health and a healthy lifestyle through health education and health interviews.

Visiting: At Secondary School: - Promoting health through health education.
