The Trust has a responsibility to safeguard the welfare of children. This is done by having in place a number of policies, procedures and protocols, training strategies, supervision and access to advice from experts in child protection. The protection of children is everybody's business and the process is carried out through multi-agency working. Promoting children's well being and safeguarding them from significant harm depends crucially upon effective information sharing, collaboration and understanding between agencies and professionals. Constructive relationships between individual workers need to be supported by a strong lead from elected or appointed authority members and the commitment of Chief Officers. |
