Welcome to the North West Wales NHS Trust's Getting Involved (Public and Patient Involvement) section of the Website which is a 'work in progress' and will be regularly updated. We realise that health is an issue that is at the top of the local agenda and a subject that many people care passionately about. That is why this cannot be a one-way relationship. The Trust has a major role to play in striving to improve the health and well-being of the local community but we can only do this by working together. Independent public involvement is vital in a modern health service and patients and their families are no longer prepared to be passive recipients of health care. As your Trust we are committed to listening to your views and working with you to ensure that patients and the public are involved in developing a health service that is part of the community, where everyone has a role to play in achieving a common goal. The Information Point at Ysbyty Gwynedd The Information Point at Ysbyty Gwynedd is run in partnership with the Trust, WRVS and Red Cross and provides information about services and support groups connected to the hospital, as well as guidance on where patients can obtain information about hundreds of related charities, volunteer services and benefits. There are plans to offer an information service from other hospitals within the Trust, including Ysbyty Penrhos Stanley in Holyhead and the New Ysbyty Alltwen, Tremadog. For more information on the services offered from the Information Point, please contact Catherine Jones on 07717 326 636.
Improving Patient Information The Trust has a policy in place for the production of written patient information. This ensures that the information provided is up to date and presented in a style and format that is accessible and readable by all. Patient representatives have been recruited to proof-read all Trust produced literature prior to publication to ensure that we are providing the highest quality material. If you would like to become one of our many 'volunteer proof-readers', please contact the Communications Unit on (01248) 384939 or e-mail us. Would you like to send us feedback on our services? Suggestions, Complaints and Compliments can be a valuable source of information in maintaining and improvings standards in healthcare. Your views are crucial to future developments and we want to know what you think of the services provided by the Trust. |
