The Acute Medical Assessment Unit (AMAU) is based on Tryfan Ward, Ysbyty Gwynedd. The Unit consists of 3 x 6 bedded bays and 6 cubicles. All emergency medical admissions are assessed by the Medical Directorate's on-take team prior to admission, transfer or discharge. The Directorate aims for a maximum stay of 24 hours on this ward before patients are transferred to the correct specialty ward, community unit or discharged.
