Mrs Dilys W Shaw

Mrs Shaw was born in Caernarfon and brought up in Llangefni. She was educated at Llangefni Grammar School and then the Secondary School. She attained an Honours degree in Bacteriology at Liverpool University and then worked on research with pharmaceutical companies in and around London.

She returned to live in Llangefni in 1971 and worked in the voluntary sector with a variety of charities. She was also a founder Member of Crossroads Caring for Carers on Anglesey and is still a Trustee . She was also a founder Member of the Anglesey Muscular Dystrophy Group and its Chairman until 2001.

She was an active member of Theatr Fach, Llangefni and held a variety of administrative positions. She is still a Life Member. She has been involved with Medrwn Mon for some years and is now a Trustee.

In 1983 she took up employment with Anglesey Community Health Council where she was Chief Officer until 2005, when she retired. Latterly she was also an Associate Member of Anglesey Local Health Board. Her particular interests include public involvement in health care issues and enabling healthy lifestyles.
