MAU    Medical Assessment Unit
Mammography A special X-ray examination of breast tissue used in the early detection of breast cancer
Metabolism The medical name for all the chemical and physical reactions occurring in the body all the time for growth and development
Mental Health To do with the well-being of the mind as opposed to physical well-being
Midwife Trained professionals who provide assistance and medical care to women throughout their pregnancy, labour and childbirth
Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) A Minor Injuries Unit provides special treatment for a wide range of minor injuries and is staffed by specially trained and experienced clinicians
Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanner (MRI) Scanner A scanner that produces images of parts of the body by the use of strong magnetic field and electromagnetic waves
Multidisciplinary Medical, nursing and other related professionals and non-medical staff such as Social Services and the Voluntary Sector, working together as a team
